MAN IN CALIF. SHOOTS 4 PEOPLE, SELF AT FAST FOOD RESTAURANT

E-mail Print PDF

I barely glanced over the article. The headline was enough. What an asshole.

Not that he killed 4 people, but that he went the indiscriminate crowd shooter way.

What a waste.

That's what these fast food killers do. Living and dying gross.

The immediate unhealthy gratification of eating  there and killing there match right up. Always regret while digesting, and I'm sure regret from the killer if they'd ever live. They never do.

Whenever I consider homicide, it's almost always a homicide/suicide.

I used to think it's because I'm not really a killer, and I couldn't live with myself if I was.

Now I'm not so sure. I think it's just laziness. Cleaning up the crime scene seems like a major pain in the ass. Especially as OCD and paranoid as I am already (mainly though, reeeally fucking lazy). And not only the cleaning, but the planning, the alibi, the possibility of missing an important detail in that frame of mind, the waiting and worrying.  Too much work!

I mean I guess that part is glamorous too, the brilliant, cold, methodical murdering mastermind. But it's just not in my makeup. I can't be a craftsman if it isn't a labor of love. Smooth criminal no. Just get ‘em? YES!

Anyway back to the headline. So wasteful. I dislike most people on some level, but (despite constantly stating otherwise) I really don't think the majority of ‘em deserve the hit.

And even if they did, how deeply satisfying can killing a stranger be?

No. If you're at that point, go to your list. We all have them. Vaguely, maybe shifting, maybe written in stone, but we all have a list.

People who fucked us. People who bring nothing to the table and make the world even more unbearable. Assholes. Torturers. Abusers. People who don't return messages.  People who right-minded thinkers could make a good case for their elimination from this world being a positive.

If you can help it, just avoid this train of thought entirely. It puts you in a bad place.  But it is there, always lurking. And sometimes the limit gets reached, will always get reached, by a few. That endgame scenario, the one you've imagined and threatened for so long, that horrifying, horrible thought process has finally come to its inevitable fruition somehow.

Well if it HAS to be, why go out all slapdash and sloppy? Make it tight. Make it count, at least.

Maybe I shouldn't be so hard on these random chain burger slaughtering fools. They're damaged, unimaginative cretins that lacked that potential from the beginning.

I just really hate waste.

Ideally we'd have some organization to instruct and direct these individuals properly. A database, with detailed cases and testimonies of people who deserve it. Same number of killings, but with more thought put in it sounds better to me (despite the lack of perfection in any system). Less undeniably good/not bad people dying. And selfishly, it also synchs up well with my long and growing list, a logistical impossibility for a man with limited means (another level of frustration).

I feel your objections to the very premise. Shaking your head.

No argument here.

Positive thinking and peace and love will get you laid more often.

In closing, at the very least I think we can all agree on the senselessness of these random mass murders.
